Australia : 10 Dollars, 1991 (Obverse) : Paper : 155 mm x 78 mm

Francis Greenway (1777-1837) English-born successful architect arrived in Australia in 1814 on a penal sentence. While still serving his sentence he was commissioned to design and construct government projects, thanks to his experience and flair for building design. Eventually, after release, Greenway redeemed himself, by becoming Sydney’s prime architect and Australia’s first government architect. Almost all government buildings in downtown Sydeney are his creations. One of his works being the Hyde Park barracks, an Australian convict site, is showcased on the banknote.
